Which body and trim materials can be considered?

Accepted Answer

Published SMD Flow Control information covers cast and forged carbon steels, stainless steels, duplex grades, cast and ductile iron, and selected nickel alloys such as Monel, Inconel and Hastelloy. Suitability depends on the service condition and purchase specification.

Which valve and testing standards apply to an order?

Accepted Answer

Applicable design, testing and connection standards depend on the valve type and purchase specification. Published product ranges reference API, ASTM, ANSI, AWWA, JIS, DIN, BS and ISO requirements; shell and seat pressure tests may follow API 598, ISO 5208 or EN 12266-1 where applicable. Confirm governing editions, product scope and deviations in the RFQ and approved ITP.

Yes. We can review a customer data sheet, drawing, sample or approved requirement set, then coordinate confirmation of valve construction, materials, interfaces, marking, inspection points and document requirements. Production starts against the agreed technical baseline, with deviations clarified before release.

Depending on the agreed program, private-label scope can include nameplates, body marking, product colors, packaging, labels and document templates. Artwork, marking content, approval files and traceability requirements are confirmed before production release.

Accepted Answer

OEM/ODM and private-label scope depends on the agreed product and project requirements. To protect customers’ commercial interests, we do not publish brand names or project details without prior authorization; references can be discussed where disclosure is permitted.

How do you match an OEM project with the right manufacturing resources?

Accepted Answer

We assess the valve type, size, pressure class, materials, manufacturing processes and approved inspection scope, then plan production in our dedicated manufacturing operations. The applicable production scope, inspection plan and responsibilities are confirmed before order release.

What does SMD Flow Control manage during an OEM/ODM project?

We do not disclose customer names, marks or project details publicly without authorization, and marking or private-label artwork is released for use only within the agreed project scope.

What certifications, inspections and test records can you provide?

Published approval references include ISO 9001, API 6D, CE/PED, TA-Luft, Shell and GOST/TR CU. Confirm current validity and applicable manufacturing-entity and product scope against the issued documents. Order-specific records depend on the approved ITP and may include EN 10204 3.1 material certificates, heat-number traceability, dimensional records, PMI, pressure-test reports and specified NDT reports.

Can customers or third parties witness tests?

Customer-appointed inspectors, including third parties such as SGS, BV or TÜV, can witness agreed hold and witness points when defined in the approved Inspection and Test Plan. State the inspection stage, notice period, acceptance criteria and release records in the RFQ.

What can be included in the manufacturing record package?

Accepted Answer

Depending on scope, the package can include approved drawings, material certificates, traceability records, dimensional reports, NDT reports, pressure-test reports, marking records and final release documents. Define the required index before production.

What information is needed for an accurate quotation?

What material options can be considered for cryogenic service?

Material, bonnet and construction options depend on the minimum design temperature, medium and product specification. State the required conditions in the RFQ so the applicable product scope can be confirmed.

Does SMD support EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 inspection certificates?

Accepted Answer

EN 10204 3.1 material certificates are available when specified. Type 3.2 independent inspection is arranged when the approved ITP includes a nominated inspector. Define the document index before production.
