Building an OEM or Private-Label Valve Supply Program

An OEM or private-label program needs more than a logo change. The technical baseline should identify the approved valve construction, bill of materials, interfaces, applicable standards, inspection plan, marking, color, packaging and document templates.

Start with a controlled drawing and data sheet. Define which dimensions and components are fixed, which options can change by order and how deviations are approved. Customer-specific nameplates, body marking and labels must remain compatible with serial or lot traceability.

For repeat orders, agree sample or first-article approval, change notification, nonconformance handling and record retention. The inspection and test plan should identify the records supplied with every lot and those retained by the manufacturer.

Commercial terms should reflect the technical controls: minimum economical production quantity, tooling ownership where applicable, packaging, forecast, lead-time basis and revision management. A disciplined setup reduces ambiguity and protects both the brand owner and manufacturer.
